Get rid of Acne!

Acne is a common problem suffered by many individuals which can come and go and is particularly prevalent during puberty, however certain factors such as stress and age can bring it on also.

The physiological cause of acne is more often than not a minor infection of the pore or follicle caused by some form of blockage. An over production of sebum (an oily secretion from the sebaceous glands) can cause such blockage and factors such as oily skin, hormonal imbalance, dirt, pollution and other impurities can influence the onset of such blockages and further increasing the risk of infection which can spread if not treated at the cause.

It is not uncommon for scarring to be left behind as a result of acne and this too can be treated (see scarring section) by reducing scar appearance and also reducing the risk of further scarring.

How can I treat Acne?

For first line treatment, we would recommend incorporating a daily cleansing regime involving an antibacterial face/body wash (as Acne doesn’t just occur on the face) such as Hibiscrub along with a gentle exfoliating pad to remove dead skin. Next would be use a good moisturiser containing vitamin E to replenish and hydrate the skin, leaving it resilient as well as allowing the skin to heal while reducing scarring.
